Greetings! Here’s hoping everyone is having a fantastic Summer! Please don’t think the ladies of Asha have been idle this Summer. Quite to the contrary, they’ve been so busy they are having a hard time keeping it all straight!

Recently, they were featured performers at Controlled Burn’s Compression! A Celebration of Fire and Performance Art. Here’s a group shot:

And because he left before this picture was taken, we must also give credit to Nouri:

Asha has also welcomed back Isleen, who was saving the world and has now returned to the folds of her Asha family!

leeann1_smShe was missed and Asha is very glad is is back!

Stay tuned for more updates, soon!

First, about the picture above. This was taken by Caroline Modha, as part of the Ghandi Festival, which took place last Summer as part of Reno’s 13th annual Artown celebration. Asha has been a part of Artown for many years, and last year was no different. Asha performed at a few different events, all will be revealed, with time =)

Now, there’s lot’s of cool stuff happening for Asha right now. We are busy working on new choreography, which will be debuted at some point this Summer. Keep checking back for further announcments, but an observant person could likely figure it out by going through several links and/or knowing a bit about Asha. If this all seems super cryptic to you, then look around, you can probably figure it out if you like interesting puzzles and mysteries!

This January, Minya’s TMCC bellydance class was one of the largest we’ve seen! With well over 50 people in attendence at the first class, we were humbled, overwhelmed, and hoarse at the end of it! Check out Minya’s page to read more about her TMCC classes, and how to join.

As this is written, Saahira is doing a workshop at the Yogic Lounge, and more will be posted about that when we have more information.

Stay tuned for more information about the Asha band and what they might be cooking up, and to see what other fun things Asha has in the works.

Namaste’!
